Rather Die Than Go Back documented the death of an activist. He was sentenced to jail after participated in a protest in 1989. During his long imprisonment, he was being tortured. By the time he was released from the prison, he become walking disabled and lost his sight and hearing.
In 2012, he was interviewed by a television. During the interview he continued to call for vindication of the protest. Few days later, he was found hanged in a hospital room with his both feet staying on the floor. The authorities claimed he had committed suicide.

This piece was also used as part of the CD artwork for a Hong Kong band.
