A cosmetic brand cancelled a concert with an activist singer, after Chinese state mouthpiece Global Times accused her of being a supporter of Hong Kong and Tibetan independence movements, although she had rarely spoken on the debate.

The move sparked a boycott of the brand and its parent company. A pro-government activist however said that the brand's products are very good and had been using them for a long time.
